 Margherita Lazzati - Flaere LONDON Summer photography 2011

Luglio 2011 - La fotografa italiana Margherita Lazzati ha realizzato una mostra di grande successo a Forte dei Marmi la scorsa primavera.
In “La Mia Storia con Samuel Beckett a Portobello” gli scatti di Margherita Lazzati hanno il merito di aver donato al murale una garanzia d’immortalità, come affermano Il Corriere della Sera e Flash Art Internationale.
Le stampe in grande formato sono prodotte in edizione limitata, nel numero di quattro.
Nuovi scatti, della serie di 30 fotografie dedicate a Beckett, sono in mostra on line,  nel sito www.flaere.com,  per tutto il mese di luglio.

EXHIBITIONS
Times Square New York - We are delighted to be sponsoring gallery artist Hidemi Takagifor an installation of her Blender series in Times Square. The project was selected by theTimes Square Alliance , as part of their public arts programme. With a reception at the beginning of August, the exhibition will showcase her ongoing study of the different immigrant communities in New York, evidenced through the colourful, warm and often nostalgic packaging of each nation's favoured foods. Prints in the series are available in a single size at 7 x 9” in an edition of 75.     

In the UK, Storm II by British photographer Tim Hall, was one of the works selected for The Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition, billed as "an essential part of the London art calendar." The largest open contemporary art exhibition in the world, this year over 12,000 entries were submitted from 27 countries. The exhibition continues until 15th August. Storm II is available in two sizes, 40 x 40" and 30 x 30" both an edition of 12 + 2 artist proofs.   

Italian photographer Margherita Lazzati held a successful solo exhibition in Forte Dei Marmi, Italy. Critics in Corriere della Sera and Flash Art Internationale described her portraits in the series La Mia Storia con Samuel Beckett as having "guaranteed this mural [a] kind of immortality" The large format portrait prints are a limited edition of four. New images from the series are given the spotlight in an online exhibition throughout July.   

Alex Fakso has taken his latest works Fast or Die on an exhibition tour in Barcleona, London, LA and Milan with installations that recreated the dark train tracks of the underground at the heart of the project. His latest installation invades the walls of the Notting Hill Arts Club in London until mid-July.

Incidentally, for those interested in Street Photography, we strongly recommend theLondon Street Photography Festival running in July in King's Cross with satellite activities across London.   
NEW ART
André Lichtenberg has produced a new series titled Licht which was debuted by Flaere at Madrid Foto in May (see below). With strong geometric lines and clean composition together with an ethereal, ghostly quality, the series explores the British coastline at full moon.

Jenni Fergie has shown us work in progress from her new series which we are very excited about and look forward to showing in due course.


ART FAIRS
The gallery took part in its first overseas photography fair Madrid Foto 3 in May showing the works of five gallery artists. Continuing our continental travels, we will be exhibiting in Paris in the Autumn and we will also announce our parallel UK programme later this summer.
